It's wonderful to be able to reuse wood scraps from when the old farm got a new thatched roof and roof construction. The wood that will not be reused for the farm itself has been turned into small wooden blocks. I hand-paint the blocks in fine colors of lime paint, which is my preferred type of paint because of its odorless and environmentally friendly properties. In this way, the wood gets new life, and I enjoy creating mini wooden houses with fine details.
I call the mini wooden houses "Hearty Fjord Houses" and are meant to symbolize the unique area here on the Trelde Næs peninsula. With Vejle Fjord on one side and Lillebælt on the other, these mini wooden houses capture the maritime that defines this scenic corner of southern Denmark.
I have also made some "Hearty Fjord Houses", which are smaller than the ones in the first pictures. I also think they turned out really well.
